I wrote about the bolts of I Love Lucy fabric we received last year. Some of the fabric has the I Love Lucy logo on it and other bolts are scenes from The Chocolate Factory episode. Bridgette (my friend) makes quilts, so I gave her a few yards off each bolt and she made five, one-of-a-kind lap quilts for me. Each quilt has a different color of chenille on the back -- white, cream, pink, yellow or blue (Desi snatched the blue one so it is not available right now...Ha!)
I love
items that are Made in America (I try not to buy Made in China) and Bridgette's quilts are made with love right here in Boulder City, NevadaUSA. They are not mass produced but rather are made one at a time in Bridgette's cottage. I hope you can see how quaint and perfect the quilts are from my photos. They really are very, very nice little lap quilts. I love the mini-pom poms she sewed around the edge.
We are going to sell the quilts to make money for our non-profit ballet company. I have 4 on hand and Bridgette is making more so we have them available for Christmas. They are $200 each and each quilt is different. The choice is which color of chenille backing is preferred.
Bridgette said this swatch of fabric (below) with Lucy in the Chocolate Factory hat was her favorite swatch. She used it on the pink chenille quilt and on the cream chenille quilt. I like the pink quilt the best of course, since my whole world is painted pink.

Here's another cute swatch of Desi Sr. & Fred fabric.
And here are the chenille colors. And yes, Bridgette is making more quilts with blue chenille on the back! If you, or someone you know, would like to purchase one of the quilts just e-mail me and I'll wrap it all pretty and send it right away. xoxo Amy
