The Nutcracker is upon us

After 4 months of rehearsal, our Nutcracker Ballet opens tonight.  The last few days of dress rehearsal were magical with the costumes & lights bringing the ballet to life.  The Spirit of Christmas was felt by all in our theatre last night at our final dress rehearsal as the lovely Waltz of Flowers filled the air.  The purity of this music, with these dancers in our wonderful theatre is etheric.  So off we go to pirouette our way through the weekend and share our Love with our audiences. They will leave with their hearts aglow.

It's almost Christmas!

Miss Gloie snapped this photo before The Nutcracker of me and my ballerina ushers in the lobby of our Theatre.  A very Merry Christmas to you and yours from all of us at Boulder City Ballet Company.  Hope your Christmas is full of love and laughter and that the Magic of Christmas enters your home and your heart.  As the sacred day approaches I count my blessings and thank God for my ballerinas, my good friends and my family.  Lots of Love ~ Amy

 

Our Teddy Bear Christmas Tree is up!

 We always decorate a Christmas Tree in the lobby of our Theatre for our Nutcracker Ballet ~ and it's always a Teddy Bear Tree (along with a few rag dolls) to go along with the atmosphere of the Ballet which begins in St. Petersburg in 1895.  Standing about 8 feet tall, the tree has white twinkly lights and it reminds me of a tree from the 1800's ~ quaint and welcoming.

Desi and I have lots of BIG Teddy Bears. We love to decorate the windows of our Theatre with them.  Our little bears are only displayed at Christmas.  Children love the tree and are mesmerized by it when they enter our theatre before the ballet starts.  Once they enter the theatre they see another Christmas tree on stage that we use in the opening scene of The Nutcracker ~ The Party Scene.

 I have another collection of little bears ~ I Love Lucy Bears ~ and I placed a few of them on the tree in the lobby today.  I usually save my Lucy Bears for display on Valentine's Day when we sell Lucy's Chocolate.  But today a few of the little Lucy Bears begged to be placed on the tree in the lobby.

If you're coming to see The Nutcracker next weekend please come a little early so you can see the bears on the tree.  We'll also have a raffle going on.  The Saturday night show is almost sold out but we still have a few rows of seats and some single/double seats for the other 3 shows.  Just give me a call if you don't have your tickets yet ~ 293-1161.  If I'm in rehearsal, I'll call you back.    Thank you ~ Amy

We say "Merry Christmas"

Desi and I say "Merry Christmas" and we're sending our prayers into the world for a blessed Christmas for all who believe in what Christmas represents.  So to you and your family, "Merry Christmas!"   May your days be bright,  full of happiness and big bear HUGS.  

I love this photo that I snapped of the marquee in front of our theatre this afternoon.  Our little town is alive with Christmas Spirit.
