  • Orphaned Baby Elephants
So nice to see that the babies finally have a prominent name attached to their plight. Please click the link (above) to view a page from the orphanage and at the bottom of the page is a link to a wonderful video Kristin made at the orphanage.

Watercolors from the Nursery

  • Each month I receive a lovely watercolor depicting a scene from the nursery. We have printed many of them out and placed them in frames to decorate our home.

Sammy

  • Sammy loved kittens, tutus & ballerinas. But mostly he loved us. He died a peaceful death as an old man and left us with broken hearts.

Our Old Man

  • Baby Bear died a peaceful death just before Christmas 2009. He was almost 17. Bear was a warrior. A brilliant feline. A blessing to our lives.

Hi Amy, now that looks like a Dove convention! I adore doves and we often see them on our Nature walk and at our feeders... one of my favorite parts of the day is just sitting and watching the birds at our feeders... I bought the birds some really yummy looking and sweet smelling birdfood (the sweet smell came from the berries in it) and they didn't like it! They wanted their plain old seed back! Picky, picky! I also love the things you have added to your sidebar... the picture and saying about your pretty mama, and beautiful YOU in your long skirt! xoxo Julie Marie

That is so cool Amy. Ever since my girls were little I have always made them look at what I call "Birds on a Wire." Actually anyone that's in the car with me has been subjected to my obsession with my Birds on a Wire. I just love this picture!

What a kind lovely thing to do Amy. I think I'll try it too although with my luck it will probably look like a scene from the movie "the birds" as they think I'm up to no good & try to peck out my eyes!lol!xo

Donna,

There was a commercial on TV last year about a pianist who was having a

frustrating, mental block while attempting to compose a song at his piano.

He looked out his window and saw birds on several wires and they looked

like piano notes!  So he began to play the notes and inspiration came.  I love

that ad and always think of it when I see birds on a wire in my yard.  One

day Haley suggested I take a photo of them and blog about it ~ so I did.

Thanks for your comment and for identifying with birds on a wire.

Sometimes there are 50 or more birds on those wires.  Youd love it.

My little mother Libby

  • Hi Mom! I hope you have somehow figured out how to read my blog. I have a new, bionic knee that should last till I'm 80. Wish you were here so we could share everything with you. Miss you lots.... Wish you would have lived longer so you could see your beautiful granddaughters all grown up.
