Orphaned Baby Elephants
So nice to see that the babies finally have a prominent name attached to their plight. Please click the link (above) to view a page from the orphanage and at the bottom of the page is a link to a wonderful video Kristin made at the orphanage.
From Dame Daphne Sheldrick:
“Every person that buys ivory has killed an elephant
and its dependent young and has caused immeasurable
sorrow and suffering to many others.”

Watercolors from the Nursery
Each month I receive a lovely watercolor depicting a scene from the nursery. We have printed many of them out and placed them in frames to decorate our home.
Sammy loved kittens, tutus & ballerinas. But mostly he loved us. He died a peaceful death as an old man and left us with broken hearts.
Our Old Man
Baby Bear died a peaceful death just before Christmas 2009. He was almost 17. Bear was a warrior. A brilliant feline. A blessing to our lives.
We love the FREE HUG movement that is spreading around the world and send each of you an etheric HUG along with our heartfelt wish for Peace & Happiness in the New Year. (Thank you for the photo, Audrey)
Hope you spend Christmas with those you love most and that the magic of Christmas permeates your home and soul. Hope your little ones still Believe. Sending love and our wish for a Merry Christmas. Love, Amy & Desi
I'm sad to inform those of you who graciously bought raffle tickets that you did NOT win the wonderful I Love Lucy Quilt. A woman named Janie from Las Vegas won it and she is thrilled. Thank you for purchasing raffle tickets and helping our ballet company. We raised $972 and that made all of us very happy. Thank you!
Our Nutcracker Ballet was magical. I'll post photos in a few days.
After 4 months of rehearsal, our Nutcracker Ballet opens tonight. The last few days of dress rehearsal were magical with the costumes & lights bringing the ballet to life. The Spirit of Christmas was felt by all in our theatre last night at our final dress rehearsal as the lovely Waltz of Flowers filled the air. The purity of this music, with these dancers in our wonderful theatre is etheric. So off we go to pirouette our way through the weekend and share our Love with our audiences. They will leave with their hearts aglow.
Jelly has fallen in love with Mimi ~ a little girl Schnauzer that belongs to my girlfriend, Shari. Jelly has always been anti-social towards other dogs with the exception of Tom's Akitas and his good buddy Tommy ~ another Schnauzer.
I suppose frolicking and picnics at the beach on warm sunny days could induce any of us to fall in love. In Jelly's case it proved true. He especially liked relaxing on his own beach chair and eating turkey sandwiches.
Warm days are a treasure while most of America is shivering. Pelicans perch at the end of the old dock. Mother Nature certainly gives us an abundance to be Thankful for. How can there be war and pain when Peace is possible?
Shari has 7 dogs in her pack. What a life they have with daily runs on the beach and trail rides into the mountains. Knowing only her pack since birth, Mimi was mesmerized by Jelly.
How could Jelly know that at the end of the day he would find himself in the kitchen sink? He must be handsome for another day in Paradise and another adventure with Mimi. After all, Mimi is a Princess.
At the end of the day I still wonder why so many choose a drunken, vulgar, complaining, demanding life when we are surrounded by Mother Nature and her awesome generosity. Rather than make an effort to live a Higher Life so many prefer to wallow in their you-owe-me-and-I'll-hate-you-if-you-don't-give-me-what-I-demand-mentality. If a person is honestly happy with themselves they would never hurt or make demands on another person. Yes, humanity changes one person at a time but that one person first has to remember to look UP. That's how I feel today. And you?
Hi Mom! I hope you have somehow figured out how to read my blog. I have a new, bionic knee that should last till I'm 80. Wish you were here so we could share everything with you. Miss you lots....
Wish you would have lived longer so you could see your beautiful granddaughters all grown up.
My passion I am passionate about helping orphaned baby elephants whose mother's have been murdered for their ivory. Click the link above to read more about the rescue effort and please adopt a baby elephant! xoxo Amy
