Our good friend Guy Finley sent this photo to us. I don't know the source but LOVE the message. I hope to see Peace on Earth before I die. I hope there is an end to war so our beautiful young men & women can live long lives instead of dying too young in strange lands far away from home. I thank them for their ultimate sacrifice which gave all of us the gift of enjoying the Freedoms they fought for. On this Memorial Day Weekend I hold them in my heart with gratitude.
Thousands of people & boats will come thru our town this weekend on their way to party down at Lake Mead. Our soldiers died to preserve their right to party down, but I wonder how many will even think about their sacrifice this weekend? Look how low Lake Mead is! It is now lower than it was when it was being filled in the late 1930's. I hope even the 20 year drought will be OK one day.
This morning I put our American flag outside. I feel so blessed to live in America. Here we have beautiful roads, National Forests, sidewalks, street lights, freedom of speech. I could make a list a mile long. When I hear people complain I wonder if they know the conditions that MOST of the world lives under? I am over-flowing with gratitude this morning. Hope your Memorial Day is filled with love & gratitude. I appreciate the friends I've made thru blogging and thank you for spending part of your day with me. God Bless You and God Bless America. xoxo Amy
