  • Orphaned Baby Elephants
So nice to see that the babies finally have a prominent name attached to their plight. Please click the link (above) to view a page from the orphanage and at the bottom of the page is a link to a wonderful video Kristin made at the orphanage.

From Dame Daphne Sheldrick:

Watercolors from the Nursery

  • Each month I receive a lovely watercolor depicting a scene from the nursery. We have printed many of them out and placed them in frames to decorate our home.

  • Sammy loved kittens, tutus & ballerinas. But mostly he loved us. He died a peaceful death as an old man and left us with broken hearts.

Our Old Man

  • Baby Bear died a peaceful death just before Christmas 2009. He was almost 17. Bear was a warrior. A brilliant feline. A blessing to our lives.

HI AMY!!!!
SO glad you are ok and your boys!!!I saw all the coverage of that wind, that was scary...some parts of L.A. looked like a war zone. Phx got some wind but not like that, now it's just nice and winter like!!!!
So glad you are back to blogging....I am still busy snapping pictures, so I will be back full speed in a month!!
hugs to U,

Julie Marie

Hi Amy, so glad you are all home safe and sound... all of the devastation here from our winds saddens me so... but there were no deaths or injuries and I am thankful for that... yes, Jelly makes me smile BIG time!... xoxo Julie Marie

Amy Arnaz

*Hi Jamie* I love the photos of your granddaughter that you put up on FB. She is precious. Flying is always unnerving for me, but that flight into LAX during the wind storm was THE wildest landing I have ever experienced. The passengers broke into applause when the plane landed. I am happy to back to blogging. Thank you for stopping by! Hugs xoxo Amy

*Julie Marie* That experience made me wonder how on earth people down south recover after hurricanes take away their homes. Like you, I am thankful. xoxo Amy

Allen Chandler

Hi Amy,
Thankfully, you all made it home safely. I saw some of the footage of the storm damage on TV. Didn't realize that Santa Ana winds could get that ferocious. The wind can do some awesome things in the way of damage. The straight-line and tornado winds we have in this area are very scary.

I mailed a small bubble mailer (to your attention) to the Boulder Theatre, yesterday. Hopefully, it wasn't presumptuous of me to do so. You are one of the people I thought might appreciate the contents.

Have a good week.

Amy Arnaz

*Hi Allen* Oh thanks! I will keep my eyes on the Theatre mailbox in anticipation of your package. Most people in your area must have storm cellars for safety during tornado season. I can hardly imagine what it is like to know a tornado is approaching. Thanks, too, for stopping by my blog today. Have a good weekend. ~ Amy

Hi Amy so happy you and the boys are safe!! Best wishes to you and yours during the Holiday season~ Linda

Long skirts

My little mother Libby

  • Hi Mom! I hope you have somehow figured out how to read my blog. I have a new, bionic knee that should last till I'm 80. Wish you were here so we could share everything with you. Miss you lots.... Wish you would have lived longer so you could see your beautiful granddaughters all grown up.
